SOCRATES. Child of Cleinias,
I think you may be surprised,
that being the first of your lovers,
the others having stopped, I alone have not left you,
and when the others in a crowd were conversing with you,
I have not spoken to you in years.
And the cause of this is not anything human,
but a certain divine opposition,
whose power you shall also hear of later;
but now since it no longer opposes, thus I have come;
and I am hopeful also it will not oppose anymore.
